7.5 Headache attributed to intrathecal injection [G97.8] G44.824  

Diagnostic criteria:

  1. Diffuse headache remaining present in the recumbent position and fulfilling criteria C and D
  2. Intrathecal injection has been given
  3. Headache develops within 4 hours after intrathecal injection
  4. Headache resolves within 14 days1

Note:

  1. If headache persists beyond 14 days, the likely diagnosis is 7.2.2 CSF fistula headache.
