Diagnostic criteria:

Diffuse headache remaining present in the recumbent position and fulfilling criteria C and D
Intrathecal injection has been given
Headache develops within 4 hours after intrathecal injection
Headache resolves within 14 days¹

Note:

If headache persists beyond 14 days, the likely diagnosis is 7.2.2 CSF fistula headache.
