13.6 Supraorbital neuralgia [G52.80] G44.847  

Description:

An uncommon disorder characterised by pain in the region of the supraorbital notch and medial aspect of the forehead in the area supplied by the supraorbital nerve.

Diagnostic criteria:

  1. Paroxysmal or constant pain in the region of the supraorbital notch and medial aspect of the forehead in the area supplied by the supraorbital nerve
  2. Tenderness over the nerve in the supraorbital notch
  3. Pain is abolished by local anaesthetic blockade or ablation of the supraorbital nerve
